♕ It used to be that when you saw someone with locs you knew they had some sort of pride in their Africanity. They might have some history books in their tote bag, or be ready to discuss the merits of African Religion or the importance of young people following their elders’ lead. Now when I see locs I just see “hair”. It used to be.
